EKO THEATRE CARNIVAL 2020: REAL MEETS VIRTUAL.

 The annual Eko Theatre Carnival , is here again , beginning from  Monday, August 3 through to Sunday, August 9, 2020, the 2020 edition of the Eko Theater Carnival “is  a combination of a ‘minimized Real’ and ‘maximized Virtual’. A Real Tual. It is a truism that when the rhythm changes, the sane must also change their dance.”  according to Segun Adefila, the Festival Director.  The carnival will spread  over a period of 7 days, with performances by 21 different art companies ,there will also be lectures  two distinguished Nigerians,  who have excelled in their chosen professional careers and they will be speaking on different topics. Monday, August 3, the guest speaker is a seasoned scholar and practitioner, the immediate past Dean, Postgraduate School of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, and current Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism in Ekiti State, Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare. He will  be leading a discourse on * NIGERIAN THEATRE IN THE AGE OF PANDEMIC.* to be moderated by Dr. Funmi Adewole, a lecturer at De Montfort University, Leicester England, a dance scholar, writer, storytelling artist and dramaturge. In 2019, she was awarded a life-time achievement award for contributions to Dance of the African Diaspora by One Dance UK, the UK National body for Dance. 

On Tuesday, August 4, the  Speaker for the afternoon session is the popular Nigerian comedian and a man of many parts, the versatile and creative , Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome generally known as  Ali Baba, Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic (GCFR). In the words of the organizers, he  was specifically chosen for this cause, due to his firm belief in collective growth. “Ali Baba's philosophy is that the business of comedy is big enough to accommodate all who are determined to make a successful career out of it. To this end, he supports, and mentors several comedians. He also ensures that a high standard of professionalism is maintained. Ali Baba shall be discussing Entrepreneurship and the Arts.  This session will be  moderated by Princess Damilola Adekoya, also  known as Princess .

The Festival  will feature works of brilliant playwrights, directors, choreographers, actors, musicians, dancers and visual artists. Due to the Corona virus ravaging the world and in other to work according to rules and guidelines put in place by the government.

The organizers have decided to limit the sales of ticket to just 20 guests per day, in other not to contravene guidelines, put in place on social gathering  by the state government ,   the event  will be  stream live for those who cannot make it into the venue  A ticket and a  face mask are all you need to gain entrance into the venue. All other health and safety protocols shall be handled by the organizers.

ANKARA FESTIVAL 2019 IS A CELEBRATION OF THE RICH YORUBA CULTURAL HERITAGE.

The Olojo Festival is a cultural festival in the calendar of  Ile-Ife,  Osun State, which is located in the Southwestern part of Nigeria. The festival is held annually in October. As part of activities lined up for the celebration of 2019 edition of the festival Olojo is the Ankara Carnival , which will add glamour to the Olojo Festival ,  organized by the office of Sooko Moropo Titilade Adewuyi-Ijiwole, the one day event will feature , Music, Comedy, Games, Dance and lots more.

 According to the brain behind the event, Princess Titilade  Adewuyi -Ijiwole (Sooko Moropo, Yeye Giesi of the Source), the main purpose of the Ankara Day, is to celebrate the rich Yoruba Cultural heritage, through Fashion and life Style , the hardworking business woman and Educator also hinted that , the event is designed to add glamour to  the Olojo Festival, one of the major festival celebrated annually in Ile -Ife,  by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi , Ojaja II, she further revealed that the event will also create a platform for Fashion Designers, Ankara Fabric Vendors, Ankara Accessory Makers, Beads Makers, Shoe Makers and among others,  to showcase their products and services to thousands guests who are expected at the event.

TAMBUWAL RE-ELECTED.

The Incumbent Governor of Sokoto State ,Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the People Democratic Party (PDP)  has been declared winner of the just concluded re- run election that was concluded yesterday by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. 

He scored a total votes of 512,002 to beat the candidate of the All Progressive Congress candidate ,Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu ,who scored 511,660 votes.

Tambuwal until his election in 2015 as the governor of the state , was the former Speaker of the Nigeria House of Representatives

his real names are Bernard Theophilus Odinaka otherwise known as T-BROWN and in other to make his dream come to life he recently pitched his tent with a Lagos based Music label company , Mecfanny Music own by the talented Gospel Artist Mecfanny . where he just released a single titled Reggae Love.Which is enjoying mass play on airwaves and on major blogs.

According to Mecfanny , the purpose of bringing T’ Brown on board is because he is talented , in her words, he is a young man full of energy , he is creative and, I believe he is someone , our company can work with in order to enhance his creativity and bring out the best in him. she also revealed that plans are underway to shoot the video of his latest single Raggae Love.

Born in the late 90’s. before now T’Brown had performed in different Shows, Concerts after his first single ‘Ifunanya’ which was followed by 3 other singles titled : Amarachi, Bebe, and Shade. He is a sound engineer and a Song Writer.

T’Brown”s motivation and inspiration according to him comes from God and he is greatly inspired musically by great artistes like the late Legend Bob Marley, Ras Kimono, 2Baba, Patoranking among others.
