The Incumbent Governor of Sokoto State ,Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the just concluded re- run election that was concluded yesterday by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. He scored a total votes of 512,002 to beat the candidate of the All Progressive Congress candidate ,Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu ,who scored 511,660 votes.
Tambuwal until his election in 2015 as the governor of the state , was the former Speaker of the Nigeria House of Representatives
